Nexus Multi Academy Trust Extended Services – Short Breaks

Nexus MAT has been commissioned by Rotherham Council to provide after-school and holiday short breaks provision, enabling Rotherham children and young people with complex needs to access a varied extended services (ES) offer since July 2017.
The contract requires Nexus to put in place a “core offer” but we also have the opportunity to co-produce bespoke interventions for pupils to enhance learning and provide enrichment opportunities. Consolidating and developing the Nexus offer will require rigorous review and creative thinking to ensure we can continue to deliver high quality provision in line with the needs of RMBC, children and their parents and carers.
Short Breaks:
Nexus MAT offer a range of weekly after school clubs, monthly Saturday clubs and school holiday provision to meet the needs of children and young people aged 2-19 with Severe Learning Difficulties, specifically Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD) and Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC). Additional bespoke provision is available via referral.
Activities include soft play, creative arts and music, arts and crafts, sports and games, multi-sensory room, outdoor learning and computers.
Sessions will encourage communication and social interaction, sharing spaces and new experiences, positive choice making and learning new skills. Sessions are designed to be fully inclusive. Nexus MAT will also offer a minimum of 15 days school holiday short breaks (excluding Christmas).
All sessions are staffed by qualified teaching staff or Lead Worker and support staff. Transport can be provided if required.
After school clubs cost £5 per session and Holiday clubs cost £10.
Transport costs £5 per session and this must be requested at the time of application. There is no transport available for Saturday clubs.
