Discovery Academy is a brand-new school for children and young people with SEND located on the Norfolk Park Estate in Sheffield. The Academy is run by the award-winning Nexus Multi Academy Trust.

Our Opportunity

We are looking to appoint a highly professional and efficient Higher Level Teaching Assistant.

You will need to demonstrate that you:

Have experience of supporting children with special educational needs and challenging behaviour and delivery of lessons to either individuals and or small groups or classes.
The skills to place pupil learning at the centre of all your practice.
The ability to make sound judgements on attainment & progress of students, assess and celebrate in their success.
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to enthuse and motivate others
Experience of delivering a diverse package of learning & pastoral support to pupils.
Able to cover regular lessons, contribute to planning and assessment
Understanding of EHCP’s, annual review processes and targets and outcomes
Ability to contribute to and share quality practice with other ISWs, teachers and the team.
Grade C or above in both English & Maths GCSE or equivalent
HLTA status or willingness to undertake the qualification
